What is a White Blood Cell Scan? Reason(s) for the Examination:

 

A white blood cell scan is used to help identify sites of infection.

 

Length of Exam:

A sample of your blood will be obtained from you. The blood will be mixed with a tracer. You return three hours later and the mixed blood will be injected back into you through a vein. Return 2-4 hours later, (or 24 hours later) for 30 minutes of imaging.
